The role of high-density mapping in atrial fibrillation ablation

Aims. To determine the role of prevalence low-voltage areas in occurrence arrhythmia recurrence after interventional treatment atrial fibrillation (AF). Methods. The study included 38 patients with paroxysmal (52.6%) and persistent (47.4%) forms AF who underwent using high-density electroanatomical mapping (at least 10,000 EGM points). Analysis maps was performed completion ablation procedure. area zones measured manually. Then, all regions activity were summed up; resulting value expressed as a percentage total surface left atrium (LA). Results. observation period 12.8±3.2 months. Based on results endocardial mapping, divided into 2 groups according to LA. first group an less than 5% atrium, second more atrium. had lower LA volume compared from group, mean values 119.87±16.35 ml 154.57±33.23 ml, respectively (p=0.007). In recorded one patient catheter treatment, 5 patients. Conclusion. Common detected by before procedure for AF, are predictor treatment.
